Chef Ratna Saluja
From baking her first cake at the age of 18, to conjuring up a traditional English fruit cake in the contest for the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Ratna Saluja’s journey has been a magical one. An alumna of Le Cordon Bleu, London and Savour School of Chocolate and Patisserie, Melbourne, Saluja has worked for years to hone her baking skills.
To learn from the best in the field, Saluja headed to schools around the world — Switzerland, UK and Australia. The regally sumptuous cake she created for the royal wedding bears testimony to her skill, if one were to even take a look at only the pictures.
In Saluja’s own words, she started to bake in earnest when she was learning the art at Le Cordon Bleu. She realised she was the happiest in the kitchen, covered in flour, surrounded by pots and pans. Now, her speciality designer cakes, fine desserts and gourmet treats create visually delightful desserts for people in New Delhi and around.
